The child has one intuitive aim: self development

EASTER Workshops

Thank you for bringing your children to our workshops this Easter. The absolute best thing about the week was watching the children’s confidence grow. With just the right sort of freedom and encouragement transformations happened before our eyes. Wow!

We had a great time writing about a variety of subjects, inspired by our BACK IN TIME theme.

Monday 7th – we travelled  to Mars in celebration of the 7th April 2001 NASA launch of the Mars Odyssey spacecraft. We wrote together traveling to Mars in our imagination and learning facts and figures about this stunning planet. We made Mars sun-catchers, illustrated our stories and wrote acrostic poems too. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Tuesday 8th –  we learnt all about Westminster Cathedral and the coronations that have taken place there for 1ooo years (many of which were in April) . We wrote stories of crown jewel thefts and made wonderful crowns.

Monday 14th -we linked this workshop to the  first cordless telephone being introduced on the 14th April 1983. The children learnt all about the first mobile telephones. We don’t think they quite believed us when we told them about how we had to use phone boxes before… They wrote the best  bedtime stories (intended to be told on the telephone). They were truly amazing.

Tuesday 15th – to commemorate the sinking of RMS Titanic, in honour of Jenny, the ship’s cat,  we invented cat characters, wrote poems and stories about ship’s cats and made cat masks of our invented characters.

Thank you to all who attended and wrote with us. It was AMAZING!
