What are the aims of the courses?

The courses aim to build confidence and independence in writing, but also to improve ability and awareness of what needs to be included in the written piece of an entrance exam. All of this works towards the primary aim of your child achieving a super mark in the final exam.

Who are the courses suitable for?

The lessons are designed for children who are preparing for their 11-plus. They are primarily for children in year 5, however an advanced year 4 child may be able to tackle the tasks.  If your child is in year 6 or 7 and needs extra help with creative writing, the lessons will certainly help.

What is the quiz?

The quiz is a short quiz of 8-1o questions that tests your child on the new vocabulary that they have learnt during the course.

Your child has time to review their answers once the quiz has been submitted and a mark given. A full explanation is given to each question on completion of the test.
