This February half-term The Story Room ventures into an NW postcode – NW10.  We have been providing workshops and inspiring creativity in North London for three years now and love what we do!

Àngels will be working her magic at Mini Picassos with two exciting creative writing workshops for children aged 8-11 years old. You can book on one workshop or both, it’s up to you!

The key aims of our workshops are to increase children’s creativity in writing, develop their interest and motivation to write and build their self-confidence about what they can write. But most of all we want the children to have fun and let their imaginations fly!!!

All materials are supplied.

Tuesday 16th February

Music for Writing

In this workshop we will be playing a selection of instrumental music to the children. With the use of images the children will then create their own quest story, using the music as the sound track. At the end of the workshop students will have the opportunity to  read their stories with the music as background for effect!

Fairy Tales – Retold!

Fairy Tales can be  very different stories  if we think about how to re-tell them from a different point of view. This workshop focuses on understanding ‘who is holding the camera?’ when we tell a story. We will look at a fairy story and see how we can tell it differently and adapt it for an older reader. The children will use all they have learnt to write their own tales..
