The Story Room has chosen this entry as we love the story and the added knowledge that Frankie has only lived in the U.K. for 16 months, without knowing any English before he came here, makes it even more special. We only edited some of the verb tenses, other than that the work is completely his own! Well done, Frankie.
The Frog Knight and The Eagle King
Once upon a time there was a frog who wanted to be a knight, butfirst he had to find a king who would let him be a knight.
“I will go and find someone who can tell me if there a king?” He told himself. He saw a goat walk by.
“Hello there goat,”said the frog ,“can you tell me if there is a king?”
“Well,” said the goat,“there is an eagle king, but over 7000 metres. away”
“Thank you, bye!” said the frog,“I will find the eagle king,” he said, “I will!” said the frog strongly. So he said goodbye to his friend and went on.
First he came to a dark cave. The cave was very old and spooky and the frog was scared. “I am a frog knight, knights are not scared at all,” he said to himself. So he walked and walked. As he walked out of the cave, he was very happy. “I did it, I really did it!” the frog was very happy .Then he went into a volcano. “A volcano,” he shouted, “a real volcano”, he shouted again. “How will I do this?” The volcano was full with flames. The frog slowly walked on, “thank goodness, I have crossed the volcano,” he said. Next he saw a stream. “Swimming that is easier than anything.” The frog easily swam out of the stream, then he saw a giant mountain and on it he saw a snake.
“Hey there snake,” he said.
“Hey there frog, ” said the snake, “can I help you?”
“Yes,” said the frog, “Is there an eagle king?”
“Well, there is one on the mountain, ” said the snake,“but……”
“Thank you,bye.” said the frog ,then he jumped onto the mountain and went into another cave.This one was much spooky and darker than the first one, but the frog was still not scared. He just keep saying “I am a knight. I am a knight.” Then he walked out of the second cave and he came into a forest. “Oh my goodness,”said the frog, “look how many trees are there, but I am a knight, knights are not scared at all.” So he jumped and jumped, until he saw a lake. “Oh” he said, “I hope if I swim out, I will be out of the forest,” he swam into the lake then he really out of the forest. He was very happy .
He saw a giant rock and on the rock he saw the king: the Eagle King. He really couldn’t tell you how happy he was .
“Sir,” said the frog,“I am a frog knight, but I know a king has to let a person be a knight, so I have come to see you because of that.”
“Well,” said the eagle king, “there are no frogs on this mountain, so I know you walked 7000 metres to come to see me, and that is what a knight would do, so I will let you be my knight.
The frog was really really happy.“Thank you, Sir,” he said. The Eagle King gave him some armour and a sword and the frog knight went onto the mountain and killed a dragon.
