Poem of the Week – 8th June 2015

It’s a bit cold for June…. well, it is right now anyway…. so we have chosen this lovely poem

as our Poem of the Week.

My Icy Kingdom

I woke up, out out of bed,

Bumped my head,

it was late dad said,

I peered out my window, and to my surprise

An icy kingdom unfolded in front of my eyes,

Snowmen and snowflakes,

Frozen rivers and frozen lakes,

Skating on ice, it feels really nice,

Flying down the hill on my sledge,

It’s better when you’re pushed from a ledge,

Slushy snow, the temperature is very low,

The cold winter nights, no weather to fly your kites,

Steaming hot chocolate, fluffy hot water bottles,

Cant wait to be tucked in my bed!
