This Saturday at Writing Club we looked at how to write a list poem. It is a good way of looking at poetry for a range of ages, as each child can write to their level. We started with a very simple poem and then discussed how it could be improved. Then the children went on to write their own poems. ALL the children came up with lots of fantastic ideas – Dinosaur Land (very impressive) , a Zoo, a home for lost dogs (a challenge!) and an Aquarium…… Not only did the children learn about alliteration and adjectives without realising it, they also learnt the names of lots of breeds of dogs and many new animals! It was great fun and each child produced a poem to be proud of. This is one put together with their ideas. Well done everyone.
