I am a big fan of South Bank Poetry so it was a treat to have Katherine Lockton running a workshop for our teens in Southgate last night. After the introductions, Katherine asked our teens what they thought of poetry. Some liked it, some didn’t. But I think by the end of the session all of our writers had found a piece that they had enjoyed in the collection that Katherine had shown us. They learnt that there was more to poetry than they had thought and that poems take many different forms. Those who thought that they were not ‘very good at writing poetry’ wrote pieces in the session that were moving and full of life…. and very good!
