| Thursday 27th July | CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR 1,2,3 | CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR 4,5,6 | NONSENSE POETRY Despite its name, nonsense poetry makes sense most of the time, just not always.We will look at the masters of nonsense poetry from Edward Lear to Spike Milligan and see why it is that this art form endures, enthuses readers and writers alike and how we can become masters of it ourselves. |
| Tuesday 1st August | CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR 1,2,3 | CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR 4,5,6 | ADAPTING STORIES Picture books are such an intrinsic part of our childhood, but what if these stories adapted and grew as we did? In this workshop we will be looking at an all time favourite children’s picture book and re-writing it for an older audience. |

Chewing Willy Wonka’s three course dinner chewing gum or travelling in Ross Welford’s Time Machine (with a hamster!). Today we will roll back our sleeves, creating weird and wonderful inventions of our own. Who knows what trouble they will get us into… our out of! |

The Magic Faraway tree seems to be so many children’s favourite book. So if your child likes nature and wants to learn more about trees and how to incorporate them into their stories and poetry, then this is the workshop for them. |
