I run a writing club for children in South Friern Library once a month and I can see that it is a vibrant and busy library. However, this Saturday I discovered that the library is under threat of closure. I was stunned as it is one of the best libraries I have been in. They have the most amazing selection of books and knowledgeable staff on hand to help visitors. It is vital and valuable resource for the community, serving all ages and all walks of life. From a selfish point of view, if it closes we will be losing a fantastic venue for our group of enthusiastic young writers, but more importantly a community will lose something very special and precious.
