It was early in the morning and the oven was already on baking bread for the customers and, of course, Zara had picked her favourite spot by the stove. The oven was burning bright and Zara the cat was lazing on her personalised rug (which read: reserved for Zara only!)

Overwhelmed by the heat and sweating Zara decided she needed some water, though her water tray was empty and the baker was too busy to refill it.

“It looks like I’ll just have to walk and find some myself,” sighed Zara.

It wasn’t long until she stumbled along a balloon pump in a back garden.

“Ah wonderful!” cried Zara thinking that it was a water fountain.

Curling her lips around the end of the pump and holding it with two front paws she pumped and pumped and pumped with her two hind legs! She grew and grew and grew until, to her horror, she was fatter than the god Fat himself! She scampered all the way home (or floated).

“I am never leaving the house again” she said to herself in despair.

From then onward she became the fattest, most laziest cat ever…!

One day there was a big fat cat. Now you are probably wondering how this cat got so fat. I am about to tell you how. It all started in a pet’s care home. You wouldn’t know how many animals there were. Cats, dogs, parrots, rabbits and more. There was also a section for each one.

One day an owner came to get a cat. She chose a very skinny one. She called it Zara. Zara grew up with her owner and loved her very much. But the owner wanted her cat to stay healthy, so she fed her so much food. She also let Zara walk in the street on her own. But that was the problem. Whenever Zara took a stroll in the street on her own she would come across a food shop. Zara would sneak into the food shop and grab as much food as she could. But it wasn’t that easy. To get the food she would climb all of the shelves. All of the people would run around screaming. Worst of all normally all of the shelves would fall down on top of the people. But when Zara got out of the shop she had so much food stuffed into her mouth.

When she got home her owners warm smile turned into a shocked face. She couldn’t understand how her cat had gone from skinny to being so fat. It was like a dream. It was impossible.
