We always look forward to our summer holiday sessions at The Story Room. The children are relaxed and rested, when the sun shines we venture into the wonderful garden at Friends House and we just have lots of fun listening to the stories and poetry produced by all the children. It truly is heavenly!
We have already been to Japan and Brazil this holiday and are looking forward to our travels to Australia, Finland, China and Scotland.
Thanks to Michelle for the wonderful art ideas and to Sarah at HOUSE on Winchmore Hill Green for the materials that she donated. Sarah is a champion for children’s creativity and expression… and the children certainly expressed themselves through their writing and art last week. Here are some of their wonderful collage inventions from our first week of workshops.
Japan – they decorated their own Kamishibai story-scenes
Brazil – the children were inspired by ancient stories of legendary characters from Brazilian folklore, inventing characters, writing them into their stories and designing the best masks!
We hope to write and create with you all soon!
The Story Room team.
